What can you tell me about Microsoft Office Live - the new tool from MS to "streamline" web creation and hosting? Anyone tried it yet? I'm trying to get as much info as possible before I start my first web page. I'd like to get it right the first time.... Thanks much. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officelive/FX101534261033.aspx?xid=mcr ssaub0050008873mrt
There are quite a few Open Source (= free, supported by a community of users and developers) tools to help with websites. The Writer component of OpenOffice.org (the open source project you're talking to here) does a pretty good job itself of letting you create web pages just as you would a document, but I'd recommend a more comprehensive package like NVU for serious work. (I've used that and liked it; don't have any experience with SeaMonkey, another well-regarded open source package that includes this capability among many others.) You probably want to explore some of these possibilities -- for one thing, I shudder to think of putting anything from Micro$oft on my computer while it's still "new"! Their track record for security problems, even in old software, is frightening.
