However, I am experiencing extreme difficulty in using openoffice.writer because as I am typing my cursor jumps all over the place as if it were possessed by a keyboard shortcutting maniac that has lost its mind. Hi, my name is Johnny. I am just like you and most of the people on this list, an ordinary user. This is not an "OpenOffice.org E-mail Support", only an OpenOffice.org Users mailing list. Your problems sound very odd to me, I have never seen it and will probably never see it. It's actually very hard to understand what you really experience in this matter. Unfiortunately I have more questions back to you than answers: You experience troubles with OpenOffice.org Writer you say. Is there no problems with OpenOffice.org Calc and the other applications? Which version are you using? Is it OpenOffice.org 2.2? How could possibly Gmail have anything to do with your problem? Gmail is just a web site for email, PIM, chat etc etc, not an application. I don't understand what you mean by that. The funny thing is that I actually have seen problems like you describe in Gmail when using the web browser Opera. That seems to be a Gmail problem, since Gmail don't follow the recommended standards, such as W3C and so on. But that has nothing to do with OpenOffice.org Writer and that makes it more confusing. Well, I don't think I have anything more to come up with, maybe someone else has. Johnny Andersson
