There are no "contortions", you simply add a news server, respond to the confirmation email the first time that you post, and from then on read and reply as in any other newsgroup. Why would _you_ go through the contortions of reading, filtering, sorting, hundreds (or more) emails each day when you can click on the newsgroup server, read multiple mail lists/groups (threaded I might add), and reply accordingly? I've no idea what your email inbox must look like, but I subscribe to about 20 mail lists via gmane, and participate in at least 6 or 7 each day along with 4 or 5 newsgroups. Subscribing to mail lists reminds me of the 80's when we communicated via Tymnet/Telnet/MCI email (disclaimer: I was a Tymnet employee for many years) and everybody and their brother was always cc'd on a single email - or worse yet, when the server barfed and you received every company email whether you wanted it or not. Give it a try... you might like it. For instance; I will never see if you reply to this post or not unless I check gmane.comp.openoffice.questions later and choose to actually look at your reply. On the otherhand, if I want to download all msgs I can do so by going 'offline' and elect to save the msgs to my hard drive. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
