I agree - you might file a bug/RFE, check to see if one is not already filed though. You might find this of interest: http://www.uwosh.edu/faculty_staff/alderson/draw/Draw-as-CAD.html For gallery objects, you might have a look at Diagram Editor (http://www.gnome.org/projects/dia/ or http://live.gnome.org/Dia) The version I use (Dia 0.96.1) have a huge amount of prebuild diagrams and a ton of export format options.
