You use it to insert a graphic or other object that should appear in the
middle of a paragraph and near a specific word.
Normally in a formal document, you want the graphics to be placed at a
consistent horizontal location on the page, but sometimes they need to
stay near a specific point in the text.
It might be a nice enhancement to have an option with "to char"
anchoring to maintain a relative position allowing the horizontal
position to vary, but it may be useful only in very specific cases like
yours.
People do similar inter-linear translations with text without anchoring
the texts together, would this be a possibility for you? Here's one
