I don't think it possible to make a general statement as to the effect of
petitions on decisions ; nor to say what the outcome of this particular one
will be. But let us at any rate make an effort to influence the decision
that ISO will take, as it may possibly turn out to have greater import than
any of us can now foresee....

I signed the noooxml petition and received my confirmation.

Over 4300 had signed by the time I did.

Do these things really make a difference?  Such efforts seem to help
in Hollywood where I notice that due to petitions and other hoopla
the TV program Jericho is coming back from the dead.
