There is an add-on for MW Word 2000 that supports reading and writing of
.docx
files, so it's a simple matter of reading the file and re-saving as a
.doc
and
then taking the sensible option to read into OpenOffice.org and finally
save as
.odt.
I'm not in business and can't help everyone, but I would be willing to
help
anyone over this particular hurdle, given that the volumes stay low :-)

Did you mean a link to the converter? This is it: note the requirement to
install SP 3 for Office 2000 first.
