It's like a Microsoft guy on a Linux list or vice versa. I like them both so I am unaffected but the bravado. I would like to know the issues though. That way I can let my users know it is a known issue and someone is working on it.

I don't think anyone is stating that you are "talking out of my ass"; more along the lines of please provide details so that we/they/whoever can assist and help you. Keep in mind that all except an occasional few that respond on this list are OOo users just like you. Can you please provide a link to the "20 different bugs"? That would be most helpful. The only bug report that I could find that _appears_ to be related to you is: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=78470 > > If your business is just using OO to type documents and make labels > and spreadsheets, of course openoffice is fine. Perhaps you are right... perhaps not. Perhaps this might be of interest: <http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Major_OpenOffice.org_Deployments> Sun have over 40,000 users running OOo/StarOffice, Sony Corp have thousands of users running the same, governments have thousands of users running the same. So I'm a little confused as to why you find that OOo "it isn't there yet". [Note that StarOffice & OpenOffice are basically the same but StarOffice includes some additional filters and user support... perhaps your company should consider StarOffice with paid support instead?] > > On another note, some have said that it is simply an issue of getting > to know the program better, and dedicating more time to learning it. > I'm no Pitonyak. I suppose that you've also evaluated the technical and financial transition from MSO pre-2007 to MSO2007? It appears that you have a select range of issues, I'm unsure. Do you have more reports open in addition to 78470? OOo certainly isn't perfect, it does indeed have bugs; however to make a blatent & open statement such as: > There are hidden costs. For one, a VERY buggy office suite. I am using > it for a business now, piloting the software as my company is considereing > switching. Without facts or even a proper explanation as to why you are making the statement is simply nonsense, and is certainly going to elicit the responses you received in this thread. But then you knew that already, didn't you? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ______________________________________________________________________ This email has been scanned by the MessageLabs Email Security System.
