If you are updating from a 2.x version to a newer 2.x version (for example 2.1 to2.2) then the new will overwrite the old, keeping any templates etc. you may have. If you upgrade from a 1.x version to a 2.x version then the new version will *not* overwrite the old. In any case, before updating make sure the old version's Quickstarter is *not* running. If it is there will be a grey icon in the System Tray with two flying birds on it.
