Once you are subscribed you will find a world full of people able and willing to

information about the problem, the version off OOo you are using and your
operating environment
Secondly, writer, no matter HOW many times I uninstall and re-install the
programme will not let me save changes to Writer documents. This is a
nightmare. Essentially I have to create a new file using the Save As..... tab
under file because the "Save" functions (and CNTRL + and the save disc icon
in the tool bar doesn't work).
Well it does work, apparently just not for you, so I'll reiterate. Give us the
details of your version, your operating environment and I'll wager a pound to a
pinch of salt that your problem will be solved in near real time.
This is my problem, its a major one, and I have the first draft of a thesis
on OOo due in a few weeks time. I have downloaded OOo on multiple computers
and it does the same thing on all of them. I have one week to sort the
problem or I have to buy MS Office re-type ALL of my research. Please,
please please, help me fix this. I am absolutely desperate, and cant get any
help whatsoever.
Even if you decide to waste, sorry spend your money on MS Office, :-) your
previous typing will not have been in vain. All data files used by OOo are
stored in an open XML format and the content is readily available and can be
readily copied and pasted into any other program's data files.
