Hi
As you have now realised, StarOffice and OpenOffice.org are essentially
the same program, and neither contain the program Microsoft Publisher.
OpenOffice.org is always available as a free download from
www.openoffice.org, and it is never sold by OpenOffice.org.
You have purchased the program (legally) from someone else, and should ask
for a refund from them. I wish you well with this.
In the meantime, if you want Microsoft Publisher, you will have to
purchase it from a computer store. StarOffice and OpenOffice.org does
include many desktop publshing features, which you might like to
experiment with. Here are some articles that will show you what I mean:

http://mozillaquest.com/Linux03/OpenOffice-Writer-Newsletter_Story01.html
Most people I know who use Publisher, however, use it to create documents
like certificates and newsletters "automatically", needing little
knowledge or skill from the user. OpenOffice.org does not really work this
way. Perhaps it's not what you are looking for.
Again, I wish you well in seeking a refund from the people who sold the
program to you.

I purchased openoffice purely to obtain 'Publisher,' as your product
was
advertised on the internet. I already HAVE Star Office installed on my
Medion
PC. I immediately looked at the different headings and could not see
anything
which looked similar to a Publisher, so I did not accept the licences,
and
contacted the author of the product (as it advices you to in the
purchase
download) asking where Publisher is and if it isn't there can I have a
refund.
This was sent on the 20/07/2007 (the day of purchase). I had a reply on
the
25/07/2007 Telling me how to download the software, I assumed that
Publisher was,
indeed, in the pack, and agreed to the licences, only to find that I
have
purchased virtually an identical system to what I already have. I know
feel
that you have mislead me in your initial advert, I would not have made
the
purchase if it didn't state that it contained Published. It was only
the Publisher
that I required.
Yours K. Carr (Mrs)
