I find it impossible to print with cups from openoffice.org-2.2.1

What do you get in /var/log/cups/error_log when you try to print?
Nothing. Nada. Nichts or in the access_log either.
"And there are no log entries under cups for the times of trial." As
I mentioned in the original post.
There are some entries in the lpd-errs files but I have not examined
them in detail and they seemed to only referenced some http stuff.
And I have not even tried to use lpd.

try:
mv /usr/bin/lp /usr/bin/lp.old
mv /usr/bin/lpr /usr/bin/lpr.old
this way applications that use lp use the cups lp wich is at
/usr/local/bin
kind regards

My good sir, indeed you are a genius!
I do recall that a couple of years ago, I had found this mentioned
somewhere that cups has its own lp and lpr and that the system ones
should be disabled. Now, why this is not mentioned in cups documentation
is beyond me. Maybe I missed that.
Anyway, that solved it.
I have always found that these "major problems" seem to be so simple to
fix.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
