Yea, I saw the min reqs. I decided to try it any way, you know someone was
going to and then complain and gripe and moan. So, I just thought I'd let
them know before they tried, that it was indeed very, very SLOW.

Oh, and it works fine on my Kubuntu desktop despite the above. Well, as well
as it works in Windoze anyway. It is very beta software.

I found it did try to use a lot of that 1 GB. In my Vista setup it took about
100 MB with a few Docs loaded. I'm sure if I had gotten fancy with
presentations, and spreadsheets it would have gone higher. Apparently when
its loading, or loading a function it goes higher.

For those looking to open Lotus Word Pro Docs, it does well for anything that
was saved with the latest version of LWP. It chokes on anything I have that
was saved before Y2K. Which is OK because I still have LWP installed and I
will open and save those docs.

I tested this (opening Word Pro docs) on Kubuntu (worked less of the time) and
Windows Vista (worked more but not all the time). The problem is that when
you open a LWP doc with IBMSym the formatting isn't quite right. No worries,
if you just do a save, or save as and save it as an ODF file, you can then
open it with OOo and it looks good. It appears this beta has problems with
tabs.

Also the Text properties box on my Linux setup didn't do right. It was wider
than the max space allowed and so I had to scroll back and forth to see all
the text and paragraph properties. This could be a Gnome Font in KDE thing.
It is Gnome Centric it appears.

I tossed my 5.2 CD once OOo came out ( build 648 pre 1.0 release was when I
started with it, or at least I think that was the build number).
