OK, I installed kbuntu (7.04). What a trip that is... now I remember why I uninstalled kde. Anyway, I installed kbuntu-desktop including Ubuntu's OOo. Verified everything works, including Ubuntu's OOo. Then: 1. sudo apt-get remove kubuntu-desktop 2. After a little searching I figured out how to run Synaptic, then removed *all* openoffice programs. 3. Then in the OOo DEB directory: sudo dpkg -i *.deb 4. Then in the desktop-integration directory: sudo dpkg -i *.deb Let everything install, then from the KDE menu thingy: Office|Openofice.org 2.3 Writer| accepted the terms, unclicked check online for updates, said I didn't want to register, and ran OOo 2.3 just fine. Help|About works, Calc works, Base Works, Writer works, Impress works. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
