In an exchange between people in a private setting that is not
publically archived for later reference it is OK to top post and
ignore trimming. Because those people are usually reading the
exchange soon enough to keep up with the conversation without the
need to scroll down to see what was said.

But it makes no sense to top post in a public list where people will
come along later and try to read the thread to learn something and
they have to jump a round because some lazy people top posted and
did not trim off unnecessary parts of the conversation.

It is absurd and lazy to post replies at the top of a list thread
because it is akin to reading a book from the back to the front or
a letter from the bottom to the top. No , I am not angry or a
zealot or religious about this, it has to do with, is some one lazy
and inconsiderate or not toward others who will come a long later
to read the thread.
