Download the entire OpenOffice.org program, it is able to open Excel
files.

In fact you might want to have a look at this site

They have a whole collection of spreadsheets to help manage scouting
groups from Cub onwards. They had been all Excel, but most have been
converted to Calc, and they have a section on the board to help if you
have Excel already at your troop and would like to use the Free Calc (
OpenOffice.org ) instead. It will be well worth your time to check it
out, I believe.
