Hello Open Office, I was told to download the" Free Open Office" in order to be able to open emails sent to
me using Microsoft Office application. I did this several months ago, but still cant open email sent to me from the
Microsoft Office Application. I get the error that it wants to Install Windows Installer & wants my 25 character
product key number. Since this is a free download, where do I find a "product key number"? Also is asking
for "Administrator Rights".Is there something I did not do when downloading this application,or is there
something else I need to do in order to be able to open Microsoft Office e mails? I can not afford the Standard
Microsoft Office 2003 or higher price & do not need it as I do not do any office projects on computer. Can you
tell me why I still cant open these emails? Thank [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Unfortunately from what you've been told, OpenOffice is not an email
program, it is an office suite comparable to Microsoft Office. It is an
open source project, which means to you that it is free. It is very
functional if you take the time to learn to use it. However, if you are
looking for a free email program to download and read emails, you might
wan to to go to www.mozilla.com and try Thunderbird. I'm sure other
people can suggest other free email programs also. I assume when you
talk about Microsoft emails you refer to Outlook Express. To my
knowledge Thunderbird should open Outlook emails. I hope this helps.
