Hi there,
I have been a user of Open Office since it first came out and have tried
to encourage as many people as possible to use it as I have been very
pleased with all does.
My current version is 2.3 which I downloaded and installed as soon as it
was available.
However I had a problem today. I couldn't start Open Office and just
got the message "General input/output failure".
I tried repairing my installation with setup.exe but recieved the
following error message:
"Error 1304. Error writing to file C:\Program Files\Open Office.org
2.3\program\nsplugin.exe. Verify that you have access to that directory"
I then removed OpenOffice 2.3 using the installation files. Deleted the
installation folder and previous downloaded files. Thinking that if I
started from scratch it would install better.
I download the files for OO 2.3 ran the installation but I still keep
getting the same error message.
I am hoping that someone out there can help me as I can't do without my
Open Office. As this is what I use in my work and for all personal stuff.
Many thanks for your help
Dave Stevens
