That does not help to "debug" the problem Serge has sending documents.
If you click on the link the registreed "mailto:"; protcol handler is
started. But if OOo tries to send a document on Windows the registered
Simple MAPI (SMAPI) client is used instead. Both don't need to be the
same programs. In fact some mail clients on Windows used to support
"mailto:"; but not SMAPI. Clients that support both ways usually register
themselves for both of them if the user makes them the "default mail
client".

So even if using SeaMonkey for "mailto:"; links works perfectly it does
not mean that it is working well as the SMAPI client.

What makes me wonder is that (if I understood correctly) sending OOo
document formats seem to work but sending Excel format not. This would
be a very special problem. I doubt that reinstalling OOo will fix it, I
even have my doubt that creating a new OOo user profile will do.

Perhaps installing Thunderbird and making it the SMAPI client for
testing could give us a hint as I know for sure that TB should work.
Outlook Express should work also so it could serve as a test case that
doesn't need installing everything (only making it the default client).

Ciao,
Mathias

Please don't reply to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]".
I use it for the OOo lists and only rarely read other mails sent to it.
