I think you are quite right. There is no way to delete the reminders. The
good news is that you can only insert 5, so in the worst case scenario you
are 6 clicks away from where you want to be.
I have raised a request for enhancement to see if some kind developer could
create a GUI to manage reminders better.

How do you see the relationship with the possible use of bookmarks?
There is a UI component, present in Navigator, can be located through
the status bar...
