Thanks for that. However, it's for for freebsd, not windows. I'm aware 
there's a pdf plugin for cups; however the asychronous nature of unix 
printing would make life hard I believe.  (I'm currently using bullzip 
pdf printer under XP on another m/c; it's is a bit unhelpful about 
default paths, so I may give cutepdf a look in anyway.)

I'm checking at present whether there's a solution using psbook -- I'm 
hoping maybe I can get postscript out of openoffice somehow (via pdf 
and ghostscript possibly) and psbook would then be able to assemble 
this in the way I want. Maybe :-)

If I find a workable solution, I'll get back to the list - may as well 
get any answer archived.
