Just found an interesting bit on the time out error on launching OOo.
Seems there is a script involved. I managed to get
a look at it, but am not familiar with the scripting. Seems someone
who is, could just add a delay before a check to avoid
the time out error.

I can confirm this behavior, you need to use the paste combination
twice (
e.g. Ctrl-v Ctrl-v to paste a clipping from this users list under
gmail and
seamonkey to a ods file under X11/Tiger. Not the end of the world
I'd say.
