Hi,
I am using MAC OS 9.1, am I able to use your OpenOffice and if so which
version?
Pat, I am a new convert to Mac and very interested in OpenOffice and
OpenOffice-like (i.e. NeoOffice) suites for Mac.
I did some prowling around openoffice.org and it appear that even the
legacy (i.e. old) release of OOo requires at least version of 10.2.x of
OS X. So the answer to your question would seem to be no. I earnestly
hope that I am wrong, but I don't think I am. Alas, even NeoOffice, a
very good port of the OOo project to Mac OS X which is still separate
from OOo and has its own active support and development community,
doesn't have an OS 9.x version. Which is too bad.
Maybe one of the more seasoned list members can help, but barring that
it may be you are one of the few folks out there who can't use any
available version of OOo. I would encourage you to try to find and
support a freeware open source office suite for you platform, though. I
use OOo and NeoOffice not only because they are fine programs, but
because, like so many people here, I am passionate about philosophy that
excellent software should be available to all.
Sorry I am not more helpful.
Les
