using it on my SUSE 10.2 installation, have tested on my 10.3 yet. I have
sent and received .docx documents to vista users. OOo 2.3 with Novel
converter work fine.
Are you running 32 or 64 bit OpenOffice?
I am running Windows 32 bit XP and the latest version of OOo and it works
fine.
If I remember SUSE may be the only Linux version it works with currently.
One day I hope to have a spare computer to run Linux.
The good thing about Linux, I hope, is that there is more support for the
64 bit drivers than Win XP's 64 bit OS. I am told Vista is even worse.
I would like to know what version of SUSE he uses as well. I have a
64 bit AMD Athlon but XP's 64 bit OS was unavailable when I bought it
and I am not going to upgrade it, maybe not even to Vista in the next 2 - 3
years. Linux will by my next upgrade, when I am able to find software
I use now, but running on Linux (with or without WINE).
It looks like SUSE is the only one able to do all of the stuff
I am doing now with OOo, including using .docx.
Also If you look at some other resources carefully, you can find
an add-on for Excel and Powerpoint. 2007, 2003, and XP
version have different "add-in" versions. One place I found
had their own Word addin version called
OdfAddInForWordSetup-en-M2M3.exe
The company has a version for several languages as well - seven I think.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/odf-converter
go to the middle of the page for the link to the Excel and Powerpoint
addin's
Why they call their programs addin's instead of add-on's, who can tell.
But, hopefully they work as well as the Novell file/program.
