Aside from the "sooo yesterday" comments... To save your files to a CD-RW disk: 
first, you format the disk with your CD-RW software. Then, you can drag and 
drop your files to your CD burner drive. It's just like using an old floppy 
disk. However, if you want to save your backup files to a CD-R disk, then you 
need to use your CD burner software, such as Roxio, or Nero and select the 
files through that interface.

CD-RW is soo yesterday, hell even DVD is getting old hat with blu-ray
disks out. Buy yourself a little flash stick, when plugged into your
computer they are just like any other Hard Disk. Simplifies the whole
process.
