My burner does both CD & DVD.  However, I've found CD's to burn more
reliably than DVD's and so continue to use then.  Also, not all
computers can handle DVD's.  In fact, the computer I use for my firewall
is one that's CD only.  Also, I suspect CD or DVD is more suitable than
flash, for archives.
