You didn't send your message to the *unsubscribed* OP. Also, as he said in
a previous message, Mike was actually asking a rhetorical question. He was
trying to get the OP to think. I fell into the same trap you did :-(
You're correct: mea culpa. I *was* "writing " to the OP via Mike, as I had
deleted the previous posts in this thread. It's times like this I wonder why
RTFM fell out of use. :-)
For what it's worth, my HP Officejet All-in-One 4315 has a similar icon.
However, I seem to remember that choosing the correct combination of settings
within OpenOffice's Insert Envelope dialogue box was not as straightforward
as it could have been. It's a while ago but my memory of it is that the
fine-tuning of the address's position wasn't honoured at print-time. Which I
why I set my envelope template up with text boxes (one for the addressee and
one for my own details).
So do most of us. As you have said, a little fiddling around with A4 paper soon
reveals the necessary page setup from which a template, or templates may be
constructed. I find DL and C5, both with and without database source fields,
more than meets requirements. Any more esoteric envelopes can be dealt with by
means of labels.
