Having tried a liveCD or two (ubuntu, as it happens), I'm impressed that it's possible at all to run an OS off such a medium. However, while good for trying out the 'flavour' of the OS, I'd find it hopelessly slow for general use. They need a lot of extra memory too, not surprisingly (a Gb, iirc, to boot ubuntu although it will run in 256Mb or less off a hd; only a problem for older machines :-) ). -- http://www.scottsonline.org.uk lists incoming sites blocked because of spam [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mike Scott, Harlow, Essex, England --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
