No, for the simple reason (besides the fact that filing bugs to
collabnet is much less productive than fighting windmills) that there
is no need at all for Collabnet or any other OOo official to be
involved in any way. Please read the proposal again. The autoresponder
can work on the computer of any volunteer.

the real obstacle to solve this problem was the list itself, or more
exactly the attitude of those who wouldn't give up their "manually
sending CC copy to unsubscribed poster" mission because it gave them a
meaning and because they were unable to grasp the autoresponder
proposal but unwilling to learn about it because of the other reason.

Should I have filed an RFE to Collabnet for the attitude of those
people? Which place, other than the list, would have been the right
one to try to persuade them?

Only theoretically. The power of this solution is exactly that it
doesn't require any involvement from Collabnet or any other
management.
