Thanks to all of you that responded with help. I repeated the export
process and it did indeed work as expected and when done, I did have
both my saved filname.odt and filename.pdf. I am convinced that I made a
mistake.
My wife is attempting to use OO.o with Linux to apply on line for jobs.
Everyone wants her resume in .DOC format. I have not used OO.o much, so
I may have missed the method to export a .odt file as a .DOC file. I
thought the older versions of OO.o had that capability (we switched to
OO.o-2.3 some time back).

A little disappointed in OO.o.
I had a filename.odt file, opened it, made a slight change and saved it.
Next I exported it and as filename.pdf.
The just saved filename.odt was apparently erased when it was exported.
I didn't expect that. I expected the file to still exist as filename.odt
AND as filename.pdf.
It gets better. OO.o - while it will export as .pdf, apparently will not
import a .pdf file. So I am retyping the file.
Did I miss something?
