I am considering downloading "open office". I have a MacBook with OSX .4.11. I am trying to be able to type Arabic. The Microsoft Office suite for Mac that I have does not appear to support Arabic typing at all. In Text Edit or in another word processing program called "Mellel" I can type in Arabic, but I still have a problem. The keyboard layout options that my OS has (Arabic and Arabic-QWERTY) are NOT in the standard formats of most Arabic keyboards or overlays available. So when I type the 'm' key, for example, a different Arabic letter is printed than the one shown on my keyboard. I am trying to find a word-processing program that allows for the same keyboard format for typing in Arabic as the typical Arabic keyboards (I think it may be called Arabic-PC). Does Open Office have this format?
