I have a desktop computer operating with Windows XP. I have two problems

You need to make sure that your document is sent in a format that your
receiptants software can understand. If you send it to people that only have
MS Office, then you need to put it into a .doc format, for instance.

The best idea however is to encourage them to download and install OOo for
free.

Sorry - have no idea what powerpoint diaporama is... Any further information
