OpenOffice's Calc module can open Excel spreadsheets *unless* they have
been saved using Microsoft Office 2007. hat this capability will be
available in the next release.
OpenOffice has equivalents to each of Microsoft Office's ("MS Office")
components:
MS Office OpenOffice
Word Writer
Excel Calc
PowerPoint Impress
Access Base
In addition, OpenOffice has specialised modules for creating drawings:
Draw; and for creating complex mathematical formulae: Math
Considering that OpenOffice is completely free, why don't you download,
install and try it? If you run into difficulties, send details to this
mail list and we'll try to help you. The more detail you provide the more
likely it is that we will succeed.
