I want to make a planisphere or star finder, with a circular star map showing stars around the north star.
I want the names so they can be read as you look towards the centre. Can anyone recommend a program or a way that could be done? Ideally all the names would make arcs around the north star. This fits in a holder. Someone can dial the date and time, and see the pattern of stars overhead. Galileo made the first telescope in 1609. The International Year of Astronomy celebrate 400 years. The idea is to hand these out at public viewing sessions in Canada. Thanks very much.
