You double click on that file you downloaded, to start the installation process.
Also, v1.1.5 can read, though not write the new ODF file formats that v2.x support by default. This means you don't have to save in the older format.
Also, do you have a network connection between the two computers? If so, it's a simple matter to share the printer.
