I'm stumped completely. The only way I can see to do this is a botch
job, which I don't fancy. So.....
How to print a booklet for a CD case? These are about 12cm square, to
be printed double-sided with a number of sheets (depending on the
exact text and layout). I can't just use 12x24cm wierd-size paper
stock and run writer in booklet mode because the printer hardware
margins lose a lot of real estate, significant on such small pages.
So it looks as though 2 pages to an A4 sheet is needed, then cut
after printing, but......
I can't lay it out in 'draw' because there's no way of getting text
to chain/flow between text boxes. And writer can't get the pages in
the correct order either if I try this layout.
I could brute-force it as a one-off..... but surely there's a better
way????
(The rather nice draw template for cd/case which I found is fine for
a 4-page, single-sheet, booklet. But it doesn't generalise to a
larger job. Shame.)
Try this -- in your document, set the page to one-half the size of your
paper, in portrait mode. Use mirrored pages so you'll have uniform
inside margins. Set margins so you can trim to desired size.
Tools|Options|OpenOffice.org Writer|Print, check the "Brochure" box.
Your printer will have to do either manual or automatic duplex printing.
Set your printer to landscape mode and proper paper size. If you are
using A4 paper, set it to that; page size in Writer and paper size in
the printer will be different. If it prints both sides automatically,
set it to flip the sheet on its left edge.
Good luck.
