Assuming your fax machine connects you your computer, you may have a fax
"printer", which can be used to fax from any application, including
OpenOffice. If it's a stand alone fax machine, with no connection to
the computer, then no application can use it. In that case, you'd have
to print your document and then fax the paper copy.
