If you are using OpenOffice then there is no Excel program to open (Excel is a spreadsheet program licensed and sold by Microsoft). If you mean when you open the OO spreadsheet program, called Calc, then: 1. open Calc 2. select "Tools > Options..." from the menu 3. select "OpenOffice.org > Security" in the left half of the dialog box that opens 4. click the "Macro Security..." button that is now displayed along the right hand side of the dialog 5. set the Security Level and Trusted Sources as appropriate for your needs.
