I just sent you a document in which I repeated one of your equation but
by using Math Formula (Insert->Object->Formula in OOo). I think if you
do all your equations and math symbols this way (this *is* the correct
way to do this in OOo), the export to LaTeX will be much much better.
So basically the problem at present in your document is that you are
entering your equations as text! When you do OOo->LaTeX export, they are
exported as text only and not as math. This is probably what is
resulting in odd looking Tex exports.
