Do you have any plans to provide an e-mail client that doesn't bring along
the baggage that Outlook does?
Pls advise

Hi Jack,
First, so you understand. this is a list of openoffice.org users,
helping other usres, so no definitive statements of policy here.
Each year the OpenOffice.org organization holds a conference - at the
last conferene ( 2007 ) there was a lot of talk that would make folks
expect some kind of integration with the Thunderbird email client.
Exactly how 'integrated' that would be is not anything I have
information on - I am certain it will not be a 'module', more likely a
tight exchange of data between the packages and perhaps a bundled
distribution file of some type. It is also likely that this would
include some of the extensions to Thunderbird for calendar management.
CAVEAT - This is just my reading of events, not any inside information
or knowledge.
Of course the calendar might be just the kind of baggage you are talking
about with outlook.
