Thank you, James. So you're telling me that Open Office has a list of
software and I just select the one that the publisher prefers? I kinda
thought this would be how it works but wasn't sure Open Office included
the most popular word processing software used by publishers. Does it
also include Quark? Or is this a dumb question? Linda Camp

  Find out what file format they require. If Word, then you'll have
  to send them your work in Word format. Just select the appropriate
  format from the drop down list, when you use Save as. Also, ensure
  automatic file name extention is selected. You can also email in
  Word format, by clicking on File > Send > E-mail as Microsoft Word.
