I am not sure if this happens on all operating systems, but it does on my
system which is a GNU/Linux Ubuntu 7.10 system. It's very annoying. I have a
spreadsheet that calculates things for me and put "summaries" in one column
in readable text format, such as E1 would be "Anne gives Eric 4 apples" if a
A1="Anne", B1="Eric", C1="Apples" and D1=4 (of course that's just an example
to illustrate what I am talking about, in my case no apples are
involved...). So now and then I enter some values in some cells and then I
want to copy the text cell to another program, such as Tomboy or gEdit or
maybe Firefox or Opera. The mistake I often do is that I open
OpenOffice.org, highlight the cell, Ctrl+c, close OpenOffice.org and then
try to paste it into the other application, which then is impossible. Why is
tha clipboard erased when OpenOffice.org is shut down? Is this a bug? Does
this happen with OpenOffice.org for Windows as well (for example)?
