I saw he was unsubscribed and copied him. Mistake - he didn't
understand what "reply to list only" meant. I tried to explain
(offlist again). Yahoo has now returned to its spam-blacklisted
status here (he was lucky I spotted his mail!)

I feel more and more that only subscribers should reach the list - it
surely can't be too hard for the list management to respond with a
polite "please subscribe" message if necessary? Can it?
