Hang on Microsoft did not develop the APA PERRLA software, nor did
they dictate the Perrla format, nor did they dictate that debbi use it
for her assigments.

It is the developers of APA Perlla and the institutions who insist
upon the use of that software that have locked people into the use of
MS Word, not MIcrosoft.

The APA Perlla folks quite sensibly targetted the platform used by 90%
of their target market. Its debbi's educational insitute who should
bear the greater repsonsibility for her predicament for mandating the
use of commercial software -- APA Perrla in the first instance, MS
Word as a consequence of that.

Critcize MS products by all means, criticize their employment
practices, their marketing practices etc, but don't critcize them for
being successful - after all that is what most people want for
themselves and their families!
