You have told us what version of OOo you are using, but not what
operating system/version (Windows -version /Linux/Mac/Solaris BSD, etc).
Without that it a bit difficult to suggest solutions.
Did this happen _immediately_ after installing 2.4 or hours/days after?
Have you tried the simple trick of rebooting the computer, that
sometimes sorts out conflicts?
