OpenOffice v1.1.2 is very old. The current version is 2.4.0 and can be
downloaded for free from www.openoffice.org
OpenOffice supports it's default ODF file formats, along with those from
Microsoft Office. Though I could be wrong, I don't think OpenOffice
supports Word Perfect files. If you still have access to Word Perfect,
perhaps you could re-save those files in Word format, which OpenOffice
can open.
