I am new to using OpenOffice.org 1.1.2 which I downloaded to my computer by
purchased CD.
The problem is while some of the documents in "My Documents" were compatable
with the program, I have not had sucess with some others. The documents that
will not open have the "OpenOffice" icon on them but under filename is listed
"WordPerfect 9" (which is what I have been using before I downloaded
OpenOffice). When I can get a document to open, it appears with a page of mixed
characters which make no sense. The Filter Selection doesn't work for me either.
Please advise what I need to do to correct this. I have spent several hours
with the different support on you web site to no avail.
