Dear Open Office Help, I have a Dell notebook, with Vista Home Premium. It came with Microsoft Works 8.5 OEM. Rather than purchasing and using Microsoft Office, I wanted to download and use Open Office.
After 99% of install, I receive an error message: error Ox800704c8 The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open. Please try again. So, I try again, and the error continues. I don't know if I have a problem with my installer? I contacted Dell, who told me to do a system restore prior to a Windows update. When I restarted, My system restore did not complete successfully. I'm not sure what is going on. Can you offer any suggestions on how to overcome this obstacle, so I can download and install the open office? Thanks so much for your help. Jodi Fowler
