This is good advice, of course. And it is perhaps worth saying that
this is one reason for installing a PDF writer as a virtual printer
(of which freeware examples are available), even though OpenOffice
has its own function to export documents to PDF files. Using the
virtual printer, you can do much of this and similar experimentation
(brochures, anyone?) by printing to PDF - using the print dialogue,
not the export one - and see what the printout will look like. That
way, you avoid wasting even some of the plain paper.
