You know that, and I know that. But how many others know? And there 
is a way to disable it completely - not that I can remember it 
offhand.

Yes, I know. I'm on a bit of a fed-up-with-XP kick at present. As I 
said, I can't imagine a maker fixing the device control gubbins to 
prevent a complete rewrite, so linux shouldn't be a problem at all.

But this is well OT, I think, like rather a lot of traffic on this 
list at present :-(
